The Catfish That Played Basketball

If you were to read this without proof, you probably would think that this is a tall tale, it isn't. It is a true story of a fish and a ball and how the ball had a ball with the catfish.

Catfish with the basketball

Bill Driver, a resident of Wichita spotted a ball floating and bouncing around in an odd manner. Struck by curiosity, he went to have a closer look. What he saw made him rub his eyes in disbelief.

The oddly bouncing ball turned out to be a flathead catfish. The hungry catfish must have thought the reddish-brown basketball to be an edible fruit and gulped it down, only for the ball to get stuck in its mouth.

The fish looked drained from its previous exercise of trying to dive deep into the water. Unfortunately, every time the fish tried to swim deeper, the ball would bring the fish right back up.

Ball is removed, the fish moves away

Moved by the plight of the fish, Driver tried to remove the ball but it was quite slippery and he could not get the ball out. As a last resort, Driver asked his wife Pam Driver to cut the ball and deflate it. Once deflated, the couple were able to remove the ball and send the fish on its way to its home.
